Okay, this is something I never thought I would see. Even when Elon Musk said he would launch a Tesla Roadster into orbit, I thought it was just a publicity stunt. If you watched the live stream of the Falcon Heavy launch, or if you’ve been on social media lately, you’ll have seen the screenshots of the Roadster floating in space with a comfortable looking mannequin behind the wheel.
Side note: I don’t care what the radio says, if I find myself driving a car in space, I’m panicking. Also, the air vents and touch screen kinda looks like a wide-mouthed Kermit.
I wonder if Musk is planning to get the car back, considering it was his personal Tesla Roadster that was ejected out of the atmosphere. If he does get it back, it’s going to be worth a million bucks. Can you imagine owning a car that not only was owned by Elon Musk, but went into outer space and came back? You’d literally be driving a former asteroid… that goes 0-60 in 1.8 seconds. I can’t imagine a cooler conversation piece than that.
