Meet the Williams FW41

Meet the new Williams FW41, the first of the 2018 Formula One cars to be revealed. The car features the iconic Martini stripes in a sweeping motion along the car, perhaps alluding to the aerodynamic developments they’ve been chasing after. The bottom half of the car features pure black paint, which does a great job of camouflaging the aero package.

Williams’s Chief Technical Officer, Paddy Lowe, stated “the team has pursued a very different aerodynamic concept”. The team hopes their aero developments will give them enough of an advantage to stay competitive. Last year, they finished 5th in the Constructors Championship with 83 points, 104 points behind 4th-place Force India. Their hopes for being competitive this year are not without a few challenges. After the departure of Fellipe Massa, Williams will be running the youngest driver roster of all the teams.

While Lance Stroll certainly has talent, scoring a podium and 40 total points during his first year as a driver, the combination of Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin will undoubtedly provide challenges for Williams. Challenges or not, it will be exciting to see how the team does, and whether they can be competitive or not.
