“True Luxury” 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged – Car Feature

“True Luxury”

2010 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged

Let me start with saying that I’m very fortunate to have my first car review/feature to be on something so luxurious and well-engineered as this 2010 Supercharged Range Rover. Being a former technician for the prestigious company of Land Rover, I should know how much attention to detail go into all of these cars. All the way down to no rattling or squeaking while driving. Nothing at all. I will never forget the first time I drove a Land Rover. It was a new LR4 in Firenze Red that came in for a simple 7k service. I took it around the block and instantly understood why these cars are so sought after. Besides all of the quality stitched leather, beautiful curves, and an instrument cluster made out of a digital screen, the first thing you will notice is the extraordinary ride comfort. Land Rover has really put an emphasis on their air suspension and just about perfected it. I personally think the ride (in terms of comfort) of a Land Rover has beaten any SUV I’ve ever driven including a 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.

The Land Rover we have here is coated in the beautiful Alaska Pearl White. However, the greatest thing this Rover has to offer is under the hood or “bonnet”, the howling 510 hp supercharged V8 made by Jaguar. Not to mention that all of the LR4’s and Sports share the same engine. You wouldn’t think an SUV with a curb weight of 5,891 lbs could move so fast. These cars have a fuel economy of 12 city/18 highway but that is to be expected with 510 hp and 3 tons of British weight. Take a look at how Land Rover has kept the “boxy” look they wanted but have modernized the design.

Land Rover advertises all of their vehicles in an exotic location on a crazy steep incline that looks almost fake. We all know the common Rover owner will never take their beloved chariot anywhere near dirt. But Land Rover already knows that; they just want you to know if one day you become compelled to climb that mountain on the horizon, your Rover could probably do it. Depending if you have the courage or not. Even though Land Rovers usually come with a big price tag (with expensive maintenance) and have a depressing MPG, these SUVs are worth every penny. With a beautiful body design, loaded with great driving controls, plenty of power under your foot and the smoothest ride of your life, you will fall in love.
